One of Netherlands biggest provinces is Noord Brabant. In the Netherlands Brabant has the image of hospitable, cosy and easy going people, but they also tend to be more shy and less direct than people from the North. The landscape is green and flat (of course) and there are many cute little villages.
Brabant and Limburg are slightly different from the rest of the Netherlands because they don't have the strong throatsound Dutch people are known for and they have a rather Roman Catholic history and background. This manifests in the annual 'carneval' when everybody dresses up and get crazy.
One of the most famous 'Brabanders'is defenately Vincent van Gogh born in Achtmaal in West-Noord Brabant. Second famous is multi-national Philips from Eindhoven and Van Melle (Mentos,Fruitella) from Breda.
