In this city I've lived for over nine months and though I've travelled a lot, I still consider it as the most beautiful, interesting and fascinating city I've ever been. Following the legend of Romulus & Remus (see photo) the city exists over 2750 years; this makes it one of the oldest cities in the world.
Rome has so much to offer; it has influences from the a/o Etruscans, Romans, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and of course the Christian religion. In the eternal city there're more churches then days in a year. There are hunderds of monuments, churches, obelisks, museums, fontains, squares, statues etc.
And if you've had enough of all the art and history you can always relax and sit down on one of the 'Piazze' and have an Espresso, Capuccino or a glass of wine. If you're hungry there is enough choice and don't forget to try a couple of ice creams.
The Italian capital is chaotic with all the circling Vespa's, cars and busses but there are enough narrow streets where you can get away from it all. Besides, around Rome is much to see and do as well. Though the climate in generally fine, the best time to go is spring or autumn.
