York Travel Guide: 88 reviews and 201 photos

97 kilometres east of Perth is York, the oldest inland town in Western Australia. It was settled in 1831 and is now home to over 2,000 people.

The area around York was opened up to grow crops and the area soon expanded. By the 1880's the town was filled with miners and fossickers as the got off from the train on their way to the gold fields further east.

It was during these years that the lovely buildings were constructed.

Hey mate! Finally doing your pages :o) Good stuff! I wait in anticipation lol. Love the signs that nothing happened at this site and hippies use back door. So funny! :o) Can't wait for the rest! Hugs xx

I've been a bit busy and have had full weekends. And you know how long it takes to organise photos! :-)

Yes I know mate! It took me ages to do my pages. Still need to add some stuff. But sorting through the pix and deciding on the right amount for travelogues and tips is very time consuming. And that is not to mention downsizing them all. Now I have to go back through the pix and pic my favourites to upload to flickr. xx
