The Holiday Inn Crown Plaza is a 5 star hotel I stayed at and found it quite good. Centrally located in the heart of everything on Wangfujing Street, the busy shopping district and only 10 minutes from the famous Forbidden City.

The Grand Hotel Beijing is also a 5 star hotel, and one of the few places you can sense the old Peking (Beijing). The terrace provides views of the Forbidden City and the main thoroughfare that runs through the centre of Beijing. It was once an imperial palace before being turned into the first 5 star hotel in Beijing.
