Formerly known as the Arlington Ball Park , Ameriquest Field is home of the Texas Rangers. This stadium cost $191 million and took 23 months to build, it has a capacity for 49,178 people. There is an infield tarp that is mounted on hydraulic lifts and stored below ground level. Inside the park there is a 17,000sqft museum and children's learning centre and a 4 story office building.

The field itself is 22ft below street level so as to avoid summer winds. Outside the park there is the Rangers Walk of Fame where you can read about each team in franchise history on the brick path beneath them.

Adjacent to Six Flags over Texas on the west side of the amusement park at the northwest corner of East Randol Mill Road and Ballpark Way.

Palace of Wax & Ripley's Believe It Or Not! in Grand Prairie features over 175 lifelike characters such as Hollywood stars, heroes and villains from the wild west, favourite story book characters and notable American figures in history. All created by resident wax artist.

There are 8 themed galleries full of videos, artefacts and activities. You can also walk over a bed of live coals, experience a Texas tornado, and be part of an earthquake.

If you are in Fort Worth Stockyards, you can take the Tarrantula to Grapevine. It departs twice a day so plenty of time to wander around the old downtown Grapevine. There is plenty of nice stores, restaurants and attractions, not to mention a few wineries just off the main street.

Grapevine Texas is one of Tarrant County's oldest settlements which originated in 1844 and has been recognised by the National Register of Historic Places.

If you are travelling by car then you can venture to the Grapevine Mills, a huge mall with over 2 million square feet of shopping and dining under one roof and it is reportedly the largest shopping mall in the southwest.

Along Hwy 377 just south of Fort Worth and north of Cresson you will come across The Pate Museum. The museum contains many aircraft, from the early propeller driven to jet fighter planes, are lovingly restored and in good condition.

Amongst many of the exhibits you will also see a complete space capsule along with a cut-a-way mock-up showing the inside of a capsule. The Museum was founded in 1961 and amongst the collection displayed on the grounds, there are also many antique and classic cars inside the main building. One was the Texas Longhorn Car which was handcrafted in San Antonio and took 12 years to build. The museum also has an antique private railroad car, a Minesweeper boat, and a 1500 volume transportation library.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entrance is free but a donation is always accepted.

Irving is north east of Fort Worth. One of the main attractions of Irving is Las Colinas and 'The Mustangs'. The Mustangs are bronze sculptures which appear to galloping across a granite stream. They make up the largest equestrian sculpture in the world. There are nine of them in all and are amazingly realistic.

Also in Irving are the The Movie Studios. The movies studios in Las Colinas, Irving is where films such as ‘Robocop”, “Silkwood”, “Leap of Faith” and “JFK” were filmed. There are actual movie sets which you can take a tour of and be a participant in the Special Effects Show “Raiders of Las Colinas” and in the Sound Effects Show “Addams Family”.
