Forget Dallas - Ft Worth is the Place

Favorite thing: Fort Worth has so much to offer. Don't go to Dallas without leaving a couple of spare days to visit Fort Worth - more if you can because there is so much to see and do.

The downtown area still retains an old feel to it and is uninhibited by too many tall modern buildings. Walking around downtown is very easy and there are some great shops and restaurants.

The Cultural District is filled with amazing museums and galleries and they are all close to each other to be able to get around them easily - but allow plenty of time.

A Feel of the West

Favorite thing: Cowtown and the Stockyards are unique. You definitely know you are in cowboy territory. There are some great shops filled with Texas souvenirs, western clothing shops for all your tassled shirts, cowboy hats and of course the carefully crafted hand carded boots in any colour you can imagine. Go into the leather shops and see the handcrafted saddles - you would have to be serious to ever buy one at $3,000 plus but they are exquisite. Make sure you get there in time for the Fort Worth Herd trail down Exchange St. Finish off your day or break it up, with a visit to one of the great restaurants there. You won't regret your visit.
