Once known in the 1930 as the Texas Theatre, it was part of Denton's famous Theatre Row. It was the largest of the movies houses on Theatre Row at that time but was superseded later by the Campus Theatre. The theatre was remodelled in the early 1950's and given the new name of the Fine Arts Theatre. The theatre was to show documentary type films and also those of an artistic nature as well as introducing a new concept of serving popcorn, candy and coffee. None of this proved profitable and so after 6 months the theatre went back to showing traditional mainstream films.

Originally this was a movie house, albeit a grand one, which was built in 1949 just off the square for the students of both universities in Denton. It was one of several state-of-the-art movies in the southwest at that time. In 1985 the theatre was closed and left vacant until 1990 when it was purchased by the Greater Denton Arts Council and later renovated. In 1995, the doors were opened again for the grand re-opening.

Andy's is located on the Square. They have a band playing upstairs or you can hang out in the basement. There are daily drink specials. The bands that play at Andy's are anything from Metal to Country and there is always something happening every night.

Open : Monday thru Saturday 8pm till 2am. Sunday doors open at 10pm.
