Deep Ellum - Dallas
Deep Ellum DEEP ELLUM Review

Deep Ellum is the arts and entertainment area of Dallas. It was a former warehouse district and many of the buildings have been transformed into loft apartments and night clubs.

Many famous jazz and blues musicians have played in this neighbourhood since the 1920's which music was introduced here. It was also at one time a red light district and many murders took place around the nightclubs. It is a lot safer of course these days but like anywhere, precautions should always be taken.

A Mixture at The Westend - Dallas
A Mixture at The Westend WEST END Review

If you're expecting to see big hats, steel guitars and fiddles, you will find them here but Dallas also sings the blues, folk, jazz, rock and roll and heavy metal. There are comedy clubs, piano bars and nightclubs. The West End is a great place to hang out, sit outside, have a drink and listen to the orchestra of different sounds from the various bars. If you are looking for Planet Hollywood, its now closed.

A Night at the Proms... Not quite - Dallas
Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center: A Night at the Proms... Not quite Theater / Concerts Review

This is a multimillion dollar facility 260,000 sq ft and is the home of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. There are concerts here all throughout the year. Just before Christmas they had a Christmas Carols evening with the Dallas Symphony Chorus. It was a fabulous night and a great way to see the inside of the centre especially all decked out in the Christmas theme. We were way up in the ‘gods’ but it was still superb and a great entertainment centre.
