  • Sherman was named for General Sidney Sherman who was a cavalry officer famous for coining the phrase "Remember the Alamo". The city boasts one of Texas' highest per capita incomes and constitutes the largest commercial market between Dallas and Tulsa. There are several historic homes and buildings as well as having a lovely downtown shopping area. Sherman is about 25 miles directly to the west of Bonham.

  • Denison is 27 miles north west of Bonham and sits in a rolling and wooded terrain which stretches northward to the shores of Lake Texoma and the Red River Valley. The 34th President of the United States (Dwight Einsenhower) was born in a modest little two-storey house in 1890 which is much visited in Denison. There is 10 acres of a historical parkland which is dedicated to him. The downtown area has many places to visit and there is also the Denison Dam.
