Germany is found between the Netherlands and Poland in Central Europe and is one of the richest and most heavily populated nations. The country is made up of 16 states and all have their own legislatures, constitutions and own governments

Despite the setbacks Germans have faced in two world wars, they have very meticulously restored their historic areas and forests and the smaller villages still retain their quaintness and scenic attractions. In large cities, alongside its history which has been preserved, towering and impressive buildings have been erected to keep pace with the modern world.

Germany's cultural attractions are second to none. Its opera, symphonies, galleries, museums, architecture, nightlife and historic sites are as rich as any in Europe You can cruise the entire length of the Elbe, from Hamburg to Bad Schandau (almost 650 kms (400 miles) of waterway). In the south lies richly forested region of Bavaria, where the scenery is spectacular enough to take your breath away. It is probably my most favourite part of Germany. You also cannot talk about Germany without recognising the history of its renowned brewing traditions which date back to the 1500’s. Great German composers such as Bach, Brahms and Beethoven have also left their mark on the world with their classical achievements.
