    Shreveport is one side of the Red River and Bossier City is the other. The riverfronts are alive with dockside gaming facilities including restaurants, shops and lounges. Casino Magic Riverboat is a hotel and Casino. It was voted the best Casino in Shreveport Bossier. Horseshoe Riverboat Casino is the largest riverboat casino in Shreveport-Bossier. Its open 7 days/24 hrs. Hollywood Casino is Shreveport’s newest resort. It was designed to resemble an Art Deco palace from Hollywood's Golden Era. A luxurious hotel and casino which creates a touch of Hollywood glamour with the excitement of Las Vegas gambling and shows. There are more than 1,400 slots and 68 gaming tables. There is an extensive collection of movie memorabilia and a Hollywood Casino Studio store. The hotel has 403 suites.

    The Casino Rouge is just across from the State Capitol. It is an authentic turn of the century paddle wheeler which now has 30,000 sqft of gaming facilities. It also has an International Marketplace Buffet and live music in Jesters Bar. The Argosy is a three-deck riverboat casino on the Mississippi River in the downtown historic district. There is over 29,000 square feet of gaming area. There is a bar on the 2nd level and a Deli on the 1st level. The Casino is connected to the Sheraton Convention centre and hotel.

    • Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville Cafe is quite a colourful joint with a very definite island atmosphere. There is live musical performances by local artists in their Storyville Tavern. Music is free in the Tavern from 3pm to midnight.

    The tables and seats are airbrushed with colourful tropical scenes. The menu is New Orleans regional fare. Men beware of the restrooms, I’m told that the cubicles have no doors. No problem in the women’s though.
