Nowhere quite compares to Innsbruck which is both a popular winter and summer destination. Found in South West Austria on the Inn River, the city is the Capital of the Tyrol and one of Austria’s oldest cities. Nestled beneath stunning mountains, it is also the only major city in the European Alps.
Innsbruck offers a combination of history, culture, and scenery unsurpassed anywhere. Thanks to the Hapsburgs reign over a 640 year period, the city has established a reputation for having many art treasures in its 18 museums. They also had a big hand in the architecture and many beautiful buildings you see everywhere in the city.
During the winter months, Innsbruck is inundated with enthusiastic skiers tempted to try the various terrains, challenge the altitude or merely just take in the beautiful scenery of the winter wonderland. Two modern day winter Olympics have been held in the city. While in the summer months, hiking is the attraction where the blue skies and smell of the spring flowers captivate the imagination. Whatever time of year you visit, Innsbruck offers an abundance of activities to enjoy.

Innsbruck is so beautiful! Unfortunately I missed the restaurants and bars, would have loved to be served by "your" waiter!
