    Hilton Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • The hotel sits right on Prince's Wharf and overlooks the harbour. Its really quite a different shape and can look a little like a luxury cruise ship moored there. In fact, visiting passenger liners, moor right alongside the hotel and use the conference and meeting facilities for embarking and disembarking. Behind the hotel are 65 serviced apartments which are managed by the Hilton – 3, 2 and a studio apartments which is available for long or short/casual stays. Surrounding the hotel are restaurants, cafes, duty free stores and various other retail outlets. You can access the hotel from Hobson and Quay Streets

    Kingsgate Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • This hotel is located in Greenlane which is only around 5kms from downtown Auckland. I think it was the logal Campbell Hotel when I stayed in it many moons ago. The hotel is very close to Cornwell Park. They provide 216 rooms with the premium king rooms facing the pool with deck access and views over Auckland. There is the Logals Bar and Lounge. They also have an outdoor heated pool and two private spas.

    Hotel de Brett

  • An Art Deco styled hotel and only a few minutes from Queen Street. The De Brett is on the site of one of Auckland’s first hotels. Older styled rooms very comfortable and value for money. Shared bathroom or ensuite rooms. Breakfast is included.

    Kiwi Hilton Backpackers Hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Also known as the City Centre Kiwi Hilton Hotel and not to be confused with the Kiwi International Hotel. Very central location, just up from the Town Hall and Aotea Square. Not a lot of details but I did read an odd thing recently which had this hostel stating that they will NOT accommodate NZ’ers, and that people who just turn up get priority over people who book in advance!
