Whatever Your Taste - There's a Menu
  • Tip Rating:

  • There are many good areas where restaurants abound. You can just wander along Ponsonby Road, Parnell Road, the Viaduct Basin and take your pick of any cuisine or just let one of the many aromas you take in make the decision for you.

Parnell Village is found about 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) east of city centre. An entire suburb of Victorian timber cottages that have been preserved from developers.

Ponsonby Road is one of Auckland`s trendiest multicultural inner suburbs. The Viaduct area was developed for the America`s cup challenge and the influx of visitors to the area.

Parnell Village is found about 1.5 kms (1 mile) east of city centre.

    Highly Recommend.

    Hugo's Frog Bar
  • Tip Rating:

  • This informal wine bar is located on a busy corner in Newmarket. Along with wines, they also serve local brews, including Rangitoto Beer on tap and good food. Hugos is popular with the office crowd and shoppers and is a great spot for relaxing with a drink.

    Queens Head Tavern

Chuck s Streakhouse & Fish restaurant
  • Tip Rating:

  • As the name implies this is a Steak and fish restaurant. Some of the menu choices are, aged eye fillet steak served with a port wine jus, snapper served in a lemon butter and caper sauce, mussels in white wine, king prawns flambéed in garlic and chilli, served on rice. There are several choices of steaks, eye fillet, scotch fillet, T bone and sirloin, the salad bar is also included. Other choices are lamb, pork chops, chargrilled chicken and venison. Prices seem reasonable and service seems to be good on average.

    Cin Cin on Quay
  • Tip Rating:

  • Cin Cin is a very fashionable restaurant and one of the oldest established restaurants in the city. It has very unique location in the old Ferry Building overlooking the water. The setting is luxurious, high ceilings, granite and beautiful table settings. The flavour is Italian and Asian with pastas, risottos and noodles. They also have wood-fired pizzas as well as yellowfin tuna with warm sushi rice and spring onion, honey soy vinaigrette. They provide an extensive wine list also. It is recommend that you book because it is possible.

Open Noon – 11.00pm Mon- Thurs and Sun, noon – midnight Fri and Sat.

    The Hydrant
  • Tip Rating:

  • Originally this was the old Ponsonby Fire Station and over many years the building has become the home of many restaurant businesses (including one called 'The Old Ponsonby Fire Station'). Today the restaurant called the ‘Hydrant’ is established there. They are a fully licensed café and bay. They are also BYO for wine only.

    The Tamaki Yacht Club
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:

  • The Tamaki Yacht Club is on the Auckland waterfront. Romfords within the yacht club has been a large catering and event venue for many many years… I will never forget my first hangover that resulted from a night at Romfords for a company Christmas party. The views of course from the club are spectacular over the harbour. Romfords has two function rooms which are always popular, both with great views.
