The hotel was building in 1898-99 for Bacon Forrest Company. During the defence of the America's Cup, the hotel became the headquarters for the N.Z. team. Today the building is minus the original corner turret and flagpole.

The hotel has Rooms (single, double and twin) with share bathroom facilities
They do have a double room with an ensuite. The hotel has a 2 star rating.

The Coffee palace was the usual name in Australia for a temperance hotel. Built in 1895 the building is now used by YHA Australia Hostelling International as backpackers accommodation.

The hostel has a varied combination of rooms from 20 rooms/3-8 per room, 8 double rooms, 9 twin rooms, 4 single rooms and 7 family rooms. Check in is from 11.30am and check out is 10.00am.

Don't worry if you do not hold an annual YHA or Hostelling International membership card. When you check in, you can purchase an introductory membership fee of $3.50 per night.

Danum House is a lovely Federation styled home only a few minutes walk from Freo Gaol and Monument Hill. They have a large ensuite room with a queen size bed and antique pine furniture, open fire place and polished floorboards. They also have a double or twin room with antique mahogany furniture, open fireplace and federation style bathroom.

There is a guest sittingroom with a sound system and reading material, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. A full or continental breakfast is served which includes fresh fruit juice, cereals, fresh coffee and a variety of teas. Danum House is non-smoking.

The Woodman Point Holiday Park is located within Woodman Point Park and around 10km from Fremantle. and 25 minutes from the friendly city of Perth. They offer holiday units, deluxe units, studio units which come with air-conditioning, TV/video, microwave and linen. Some units come with cable TV and spas. There is a fully equipped campers kitchen as well as recreation facilities. Only the caravan and camping areas have access for the disabled.

Fothergills has been a B & B since 1993 and is set in a beautiful old limestone terrace house built in 1892. They offer 4 rooms for guests, the O’Connor Room which has an ocean view, the Holdworth Room, Samson Room and the Endeavour Room. A cooked or continental breakfast is included in the rate. Just a short walk to shopping and attractions in Fremantle.

The holiday park is right on the beach and offers a varied range of accommodation
From deluxe family units, family chalets, cabins, motel rooms and powered sites for caravans. There are also fully equipped laundries, bbqs and disabled facilities.

There is plenty to do from the park. Of course a walk through the park to the beach will give you safe swimming (great for kids), windsurfing, fishing or just a nice stroll. There is also bike paths in the area.

There are many backpacker hotels in Freo and this one is housed in a beautifully restored 110 year old heritage building. They offer spacious rooms, an open plan kitchen with 4 separate cooking stations, a laundry, internet facilities, pool tables and an outdoor heated spa. There is free tea and coffee, linen and lockers, DVD movies and music videos. You can choose from Mixed dorms, private rooms with an ensuite, family rooms or just a female only dorm and male only dorm. The hotel is wheelchair friendly and they have car parking available.

Unique Qualities: The hotel was built on the site of an earlier hotel (Albert Hotel) which was owned by Capt John Thomas. A stained glass window is in St John’s Church in his honour. The Commercial was originally known as Exchange Hotel from 1882 to 1888 when it changed names to the Commercial Hotel. Originally the hotel had 3 storey verandahs and balconies and stables and coach houses at the rear but the hotel was rebuilt in 1908. The hotel was purchased in 1920 and further repairs and renovations were carried out in 1941.

The hotel is a federation style building which has been beautifully restored. Reasonably priced rooms, and some with ensuites , along with T.V. and Radios. There are special weekly rates available and there is also a restaurant in the hotel.

This hotel is inexpensive and in a good location, only a few minutes walk to the train station and shopping centre. They have a large outdoor bbq and internet use as well as Foxtel satellite TV, and a bar next door where you can get discounted drinks. They offer dorms, singles, twins and double.

The Tradewinds is a bit of a landmark from the northside of Fremantle. You can see it perched up on the hill overlooking the Swan River. The hotel is a 4 star and offers 1 and 2 bedroom serviced apartments which also have a kitchenette. There is also a restaurant in the hotel and parking for guests is available.
