There is plenty of snorkelling to be done around the island and you can hire the equipment once you get there. Without travelling too far around the island you can find good snorkelling at The Basin which is a short walk from the Settlement. There is information and maps on different sites available from the Visitors Centre.

I thought the name came from something rotten, what a relief to learn it's connected with rats that are not really rats. Slime is local dialect for top of the hill or roof - thank you! | CandS Wed Jun 23, 2004 22:14 UTC
