Getting TO/AROUND: Stazione Termini is Romes main train station and the hub of the main transport system. But be warned,,do not linger and if u arrive late,,do not wait around long. There are usually taxis around,so catch one swifty. There are also buses here at most times that you can catch.
In summer months, expect the station to become very busy and long ques.
There are police here if u need to report anything and a lost luggage office too.
There is also a ticket office and a small money exchange booth. The foyer has a bookshop, telephones, post office, burger bar, cafe, ticket office etc.

Getting TO/AROUND: Rome has public buses ran by a company called ATAC.Loads of orange buses and a few trams cover most of the city. They run from early morning til about around midnight. No buses run around the historic center, but they will drop u off very near it.
There are bus stops at most large tourist atractions.Tickets can be bought from automatic ticket machines at bus stops. You have to buy your ticket before u use buses during the day as there is no conductor on board.
And always remember,,,always buy tickets before u travel on trams too.You can also buy them from bars etc too,,,look for the ATAC sign displayed on their window.

Getting TO/AROUND: There are two airports Leonardo da Vinci and Ciampino.Do look for a cheap flight deal to fly to Rome, there are plenty around.
Taxis are expensive and it is better to get a bus or a train. There are buses and trains available from the 2 airports to the city centre. When you are there ,you can walk or catch buses to sites. Here is the beautiful Trevi fountain.

Getting TO/AROUND: Getting around Rome is basically on foot as most sights are very close. The streets are mainly clogged with traffic and driving would be frightening.Renting a motor bike would be ok as long as you are very careful. When walking,,,be very careful when you cross a road as traffic will not stop.I found walking around Rome the nicest and easiest way to see things and i was surprised just now close most sights were.

Getting TO/AROUND: You can also hire horse drawn carriages in Rome.Go on a nice relaxing tour of Romes historic city center.Carriages can take upto 5 people at once and can by hired from many places in the city center.Trips normally last about half an hour or one hour or half day,,,or full day.But be warned, they are usually very pricey.Always find out the price before you start your tour....
