  • There is so much to see at The Forum, you need all day if you can.In fact, you could easily spend a whole day here as there are dozens of monuments and sights here.Just relax and take your time and enjoy what you see.No need to rush about wanting to see evrything. You are better seeing quality things,,,not quantity;)

Christian Rome: Stunning ceilings.. Do go to the Holy Balcony

  • Stunning ceilings...... Do go to the Holy Balcony on Sunday when thousands of pilgrims go to St Peters Square to recieve thr popes blessing(from the window of the Vatican palace.) Do go to Villa Borghese. The Villa and park were designed in 1605 for Cardinal Scipione Borghese. The park is huge and monuments and fountains are around every corner. There is a boating lake and plenty of people selling drinks and fresh rolls and pizza slices. There is also a zoo.You can look around the Villa from dawn til dusk.Make a picnic up and take it with you,it is a great way to relax. Do go exploring yourself and you will come across so many things.Buy a guidebook and read up on things before you come and decide what you want to see.Do go to the Crypt of the Capuchins,Via Veneto, where they have decorated the crypt with the bones of the dead monks. It is fasinating and spooky.

  • Go on a coach trip of the city,so you can be told the history of the monuments and buildings.Gruppo Garrani tours at Via Veneto,Orlando,Rome were brilliant. They had a choice of tours around different monuments and churches,3hr tours, morning or evening. They also done tours to Naples, Sorrento,Venice and Pompei. The 3hour tours were good because you had plenty of time to do other thongs as well. They were around £18 per person. Do go to the gardens in Rome .In the heart of Trastevere, near Farnesina palace,is the botanical garden. It is peaceful and romantic and only known by locals. It is open from 8-6pm mon-fri and sat-8-noon.
