Favorite Thing: There are so many great things in Rome to see,but you must walk around the city(most major sites are within 1.5 miles of each other) and explore the small streets and stop off and have a break in one of the great bars.Go to the Colosseum and see where gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights were staged free of charge by the emperor for public viewing.It has 80 arched entrances allowing easy access to 55,000 spectators and is also a beautiful building. Do go to the Trevi fountain,a fairly recent creation,built in 1762.It is Romes largest and most famous fountain.The central figures are Neptune,flanked by two Tritons.These symbolise the two moods of the sea.Do throw a coin in to ensure your return to Rome.

Fondest Memory: I miss the great weather and the wonderful sights.There is something to see around every corner.Rome is a beautiful city.The history is amazing.The people and the food and wine were also beautiful.Rome,i will be back. .....HERE IS THE FOUNTAIN AT VIA VENETO.

Fondest Memory: There are so many buildings with beautifully decorated ceilings.Do take your time and see the splendor of Romes beautiful bulidings.Nearly every other building is stunning.Beautiful outside and inside.It took my breath away.

Favorite Thing: Go to Vatican.This is the site where St Peter was buried and martyred.The Vatican became the residence of the popes who succeeded him.The great basilica of St Peter draws pilgrims from all over the Christian world.The papal palaces beside St Peters house the Vatican museums .With the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms,thier great collections of classical sculptures make them the finest museums in Rome. The Vatican is ruled by the pope and about 1000 staff run the facilities there.There is a post office,shops,Vatican radio,broadcasting to the world in 20 languages and a daily news paper.It is a city within a city.This place is huge and it will take hours to look around. Do go to Piazza Navona.There is always something going on here day and night.There are three fountains and many churches.There used to be athletic contests held here in the 1st century in a stadium which held 33,000 people.Chocolate chip ice-cream was also invented here.

Favorite Thing: Favorite Thing: Here is the Spanish Steps.You must go here to see the beautiful square,the shops and the fountain.Shopping here is very trendy and you can then relax in a nice bar with a good glass of Frascati wine.There were lots of trendy clothes shops here that were great prices too.

Favorite Thing: Fondest Memory: Rome has a wonderful skyline.Where ever you look,you can see steeples,wonderful buildings etc.No matter how long you go for,you will never see everything as Rome is full of great things.

Favorite Thing: Favorite Thing: Here i am climbing the Spanish Steps.Most sights in Rome are very close together and easy to walk to.I was surprized just how close most things were.But remember to take a nice comfy pair of walking shoes as you will find yourself wondering miles.
Especially around all those wonderful shops;)

Fondest Memory: The trevi fountain is quite a recent creation to Rome.It was completed in 1762 by Nicola Salvi.It is Romes largest and most famous fountain.It is a must see,but it will be very busy.Be sure to toss a coin over your shoulder to make sure u will return one day to Rome.You will see 100's of people doing this and it looks quite funny.The staues here are very beautiful and there has been so much work gone into this beautiful fountain.
