"A Great place to visit a great place to leave" Melbourne by pinkduck

We visit Melbourne regularly as we have friends and relatives in the city and like to keep in touch. There are also several attractions that we are fond of and like to do repeat visits.
The reasons for our visits are as follows:-
1) Visiting Family and Friends
2) Southbank
3) Queen Victoria Markets
4) St. Kilda and the Markets on Sunday
5)The cake shops on Ackland Street at St Kilda
6) The resturants on Lygon Street
7) The weekend art market at Southbank
8) The South Melbourne market.

If you have not picked it up by now I am a market person - - love looking for bargains and spending on things I do not really need.

We also visit some of the shows that often do not come to Adelaide (or come very late) The last visit we saw Chicago and The Jersey Boys. I am not sure if either of these are coming to Adelaide yet.

But no matter how long we are in Melbourne and how great it is while we are there it is great to leave when the time is right and head for home - - the last trip we drove over as Dave had a new car and we wanted to try it out - - this meant that when we left Melbourne we had about 8 hours of driving before we got home - - (about an hour in the plane which is preferable)

Got home and our dog is always happy to see us.
