Ah...Life in Sydney is good. Actually, I should say the Food in Sydney is good.
Been working and living in Sydney for the last 10 years, and Downtown Sydney, or the southern area of the city, is totally crammed with all kinds of food from all kinds of cultures.
There are all kinds of foods representing the different Asian and European cultures here. Lacking though, is actually Australian food itself (which probably is just a fusion of its heritage - British sandwiches).
Dominating the food scene for the Asian restaurants would be the Korean and Thai restaurants, followed by Indian, Vietnamese, HongKong, Japanese, Malaysian, North Chinese and many others. There is even a Uygher outlet here!
The European scene is of course the Italians, who have the most marketable European food available in their pastas and noodles etc. Other restaurants in Sydney are Greek, Spanish (there is a Spanish quarter here), and others.
I've spent the last 2 years working right in the middle of Downtown Sydney and haven't completed eating my way through...that's the kind of depth of food spread available.
