"James Bond Island" Phuket by MikeM2

No trip tp Phuket is complete without a trip to 'James Bond Island'

It is about 1.5 hours drive from Patong area - I suggest that a self drive hire car is the best was to enjoy a visit here

Take Highway 402 north - past the airport - cross the scenic bridge onto the mainland then bear right onto Highway 4 towards Phang Nga town (the town is worth a side trip) about 2km on the right before the town is a road down to the "pier" where you will find a tourist information office (car park and toilets) and some boat operators who will ferry you out to the island

The whole area, town plus bay, is set among scenic karsts (limestone) making a pleasant setting for the day out

On your way back about 5 mins drive after you rejoin Highway 4 - situated on your right (U-turn required) is Wat Suwannakuha - known for its resident monkeys - this was a lot if fun as they were quite gentle and friendly so suitable for children - remember to buy 'nuts' before you go
