    • The zoo and Balboa park (the zoo is located in the park) are 2 things that I would recommend. I haven't done it, but you can do the trolley tour which takes you to all the different sites in San Diego, including over to Coronado Island. You can get off at any stop, stay as long as you want, and just catch the next trolley. They come around every 15 minutes or so.
    The zoo is HUGE. It's definitely a day long event. We went right after the baby panda was born, but didn't get there in time to see it (it had sleeping hours).
