Love/Hate or just Hate/Hate?

by cjg1 - last update: Oct 8, 2009

Enjoying Brunch at The Cheesecake Factory
White Plains and I have always had a love hate relationship that probably more accurately could be described as a don’t like hate relationship. They charge for parking everywhere and that annoys me to no end. Throw on top of the normal type of person who can be found here and I almost always ask myself why did I bother to come. Yup its true. White Plains is the capital of Westchester County. The type of people who think everything of value has a higher price tag and because they paid the price tag they are entitled to be stupid while being right at the same time. Many areas of the country have them, but Westchester County is their home base.
Liz and her Vanilla Milkshake
Liz and I normally find ourselves in White Plains to go to brunch. We like to start our Sunday with a delicious brunch. I hate to admit this but I have come to Love a Chain restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory. Their food whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack or dessert is good quality and very tasty. The service is always friendly and attentive here.

Their menu is quite extensive and they have a great variety of choices. The desserts here are fabulous and we have been know to start with "dessert " first and work out way backwards when dining here.
There is plenty of shopping to be had in White Plains: The Westchester, The Galleria, City Center, Whole Foods, Bloomingdales and a variety of smaller local stores.

The Westchester can get pretty crowded so we often go early to avoid the hub bub. The Westchester is a nice upscale suburban shopping mal. They have everything you could want to buy. Whole Foods is a favorite of ours and we like to do our grocery shopping her on Sundays. They have such a nice variety of produce and meats. Liz can always find her hard to find specialty items here. I've been to Target many times in the City Center but just as the Westchester you must pay for parking, which annoys me. I have never been inside The Galleria. Liz will not take me there because she calls it the "Ghettoria" because of the bad element that seems to hang out in the mall and the shootings/acts of violence that have occured in their parking garage.

Basically if you can't find what your shopping for in White Plains...it just might not exist.
Enjoying a good meal

Man, Liz's high red shoes are DEADLY! hehehe...I can see you following her as she shops around - I am like that with my wife but I have the twins in tow - and thanks for the warning - I will keep her away from the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa
