Liz enjoying her Pilsner (1/13/10) - Boston

Liz enjoying her Pilsner (1/13/10)

Littlest Bar: A Real Gem of a Pub Littlest Bar Review

The Littlest Bar is a real gem of a place for me. It's off the beaten path and away from the crowds of tourists. Here I can relax and enjoy a beer; without all the masses. This place is a perfect pre dinner drink place or wind down the night.

The name says "Littlest" but it is not a small place at all. It is a good size with a large bar with plenty of seating as well as tables lining the perimeter. There is a good selection of cocktails, wine, beer and pub grub.

Our last visit here was November 2010; during a bit of a warm spell. We decided to stop in for a pre-dinner drink and to relax. We had a seat at the bar and perused our beer options. I ordered a Miller Lite for me and a Pilsner for Liz. It was a nice time; enjoying some cold beer and discussing life.

Enjoying the Green Dragon (11/13/10) - Boston

Enjoying the Green Dragon (11/13/10)

Green Dragon: Popping in for Drink Green Dragon Review

The Green ragon is a favorite Pub of ours when visiting Boston. My wife and I enjoy the laid back yet fun atmosphere of the place. The bar is a decent size with plenty of bar seating as well as tables throughout. They also serve food here which is actually very good especially the wings and nachos.

When we are here we enjoy sitting at the bar and interracting with other customers as well as their funny bartenders. They have a nice selection of cocktails and beer(both on tap and bottle) along with specialty drinks of the day.

Our last visit here was during our trip in November 2010. It was an unseasonably warm day and we wanted to relax with a drink. We stopped in and found the place a bit busy; probably due to all the hockey fans waiting for the game to start in a few hours. We grabbed the last two seats at the bar and ordered a Miller Lite for me and a Stella for Liz. We spent some time here relaxing and having a good time.

Black Rose: Pub out of the cold Black Rose Review

Just about everytime I'm in this town I wind up at The Black Rose. It's a nice pub atmosphere and has decent food to boot. The place is two levels with a nice sized bar area on the first level with a dining room. The second level has more seating for dining. I enjoy the casual feel of this place and the friendliness of the patrons. Yes, it is a "tourist" place but there is nothing wrong with tourist places once in awhile.

The food here is typical pub grub with appetizers such as potato skins, chicken fingers and fried calamari. They have salads and soups; of course Clam Chowder is on the menu...it is Boston. Burgers and sanwiches such as cornbeef and steak are available for lunch or dinner. Shepard's Pie, Fisn 'n Chips, and Bangers and Mash are some Irish favorites on the menu; I am partial to the shepard's pie. You will also find Lobster as well a filet mignon if your are looking for a bigger meal.

My most recent visit to the Black Rose was with Liz during one of our typical New England weekend getaways. After some shopping we decided to duck in for some drinks and to rest from walking. I had a few pints of Guiness which was just what I wanted to warm me up. Liz enjoyed some club sodas with lime. We had a fun time watching soccer and discussing football with another patron and Boston Native.

Do be advised that the kitchen closes by 9pm. So it is NOT a late night snack place. If you want a table you must order food they won't give you a table just to drink.

Dress Code: Its a pub. During the day anyway anything goes. I wore my evil empire shirt and no one said or did anything. (see Hong Kong for a pic of it). Most partons are in casual attire so don't worry about getting "dressed" to hang here.

The Sevens: Cool Bar, Horrible Food The Sevens Review

While here we made the mistake of ordering the Spinach Dip. It was basically a thick soup from a can heated marginally in a microwave. I was astounded. But hey. For as cheap as it was I ate a little and then walked out.

M. J. O'Connor's: Another Pub M. J. O'Connor's Review

Yet another pub we spent time in. It was a long day and Nat and Tamir and I were feeling like keeping it mello. The place was just the fit for what we needed. Walking distance from our hotel. And quite in the back room where we were able to chill away from the crowd. Too bad they close by 2am.

Dress Code: The dress code here is simple. Everyone should have fun as is.

Solas: Solas

This is an Irish pub that we visited during St. Patrick's Day weekend during 2003. Nat is seen here laughing like we all did most of that whole trip. A few beers and a long day and it was all funny to us.

Dress Code: As you can see we were pretty casually dressed. Just a cool pub to hang and chill in.
