We flew into Miami for some needed R&R. We were booked on a cruise and wanted to explore some new and favorite destinations on the back end of the trip.. We began our Florida experience in Miami. We arrived in Miami to some unseasonably cold weather for Florida but it didn't damper our mood. |
|  | Diners, Drive-ins and Dives Liz and I are both fans of the Food Network Show; Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. On of the episodes featured a place in Miami called Scully's Tavern. Scully's Tavern was featured as a local place with gourmet food. The food on the show looked outrageous and we knew we had to someday check it out for ourselves.
The opportunity presented itself to check out Scully's with this vacation. We arrived in Florida and decided to head over to Scully's for dinner. The plcae is located in a strip mall and looks pretty unassuming from the parking lot. Inside there is the local bar atmosphere with bar stools and tables. The waitress was very friendly and we recognized her from the Show. The menu has a great selection of bar food and unusual items.
We decided to try some of the items we saw on the show as well as some of the regular menu items. Liz and I sampled the encrusted Dolphin Sandwich, The Scampi Wings, The fried Calamari, The Escargot and the Nachos. The food was so fabulous the first night that we decided to eat at Scully's before we departed for home later that week.
So if you're in Miami....definitely check out Scully's. |
Just the Two of Us One of my favorite things in life is experiencing new things and places with Liz. We always have a great time together. Our travel styles are so similar; it's a pleasure to travel together. When on vacation we both enjoy good food and will go off the beaten path to find it. This last trip to Miami though short, was a great trip and more wonderful memories. | | |
