This is a small place I am told is only known by the locals. Although it seems to be becoming slightly more popular. It is half bar and half restaurant.

This is a place I frequent nearly every time I am in town. I have brought all my out of town guests I have come to San Francisco here with. It is that good. And if you can get one of the tables by the windows it would be a great place to bring a date. I have.

My most recent trip here was the dinner run to San Francisco in January 2007. When it was taking a while to get a table available for us my friend Karen whom we had met to have dinner with explained the staff that we had flown in strictly to come have dinner here. A table opened right up and several of the staff stopped by to see if this was indeed true.

Favorite Dish: I had the Tortellini alla panna. Been two full years since I have had the pleasure of it. Will definately go back here as all the other food on the table was very good as well.

Restaurant Name: Alegria's

A wonderful small place the Geisha took us for a VT meeting when Manuel came to town. It just happened to work out with my arrival for a weeks work in San Jose and made for a very wonderful weekend.

Favorite Dish: Manuel did the ordering for us and although I didnt eat a lot what I did was great. I had been up for a few days traveling except for the cat naps on planes.

Wow. I came here during one of my many trips to San Francisco in July 2003. There is almost always a line as we were there around 1030 or 11am on a Friday and had to wait. Trust me. Its worth the wait. The worst part about this place is they show you the menu outside and you are all set but before you order the line moves past the kitchen area and you see all these great foods coming out and end up changing you mind 15 times.

I have also been back a couple of times I am always impressed with the food here. On city search it is rated at a 9.3 which is another indicator of the great food here.

Please note. The entire restaurant is CASH ONLY.

Favorite Dish: Anything here is good.
