Nightlife Spot: Establishment
This place is very cool. I am nearly embarrassed to admit it being that it was in the guide book. Ok. Didnt know when we went. Found it after the fact. But really. Went there to meet a friend and her friend. Had a great time. Super cool place that reminds me of Milion in Buenos Aires.

Nightlife Spot: Pier 26
Another of the many nightlife spots that doubles as after work in this town. Came here on a Saturday night in the middle of winter. And still it was 75 (24C). Right above the aquarium it is easily located and a good place to be. Just dont forget to bring your ID or an out of towner. Seems either can get you in.

Nightlife Spot: Marble Bar
I came to visit the Marble Bar during my visit in 2006. I had heard of it before but never been by. We were one of two groups of customers in the bar during the afternoon that day. I believe it was Saturday or Sunday when we came. I did try to come by this year and it was closed mid late afternoon.

Nightlife Spot: Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is one of those places I've walked past every time I've been here and never stopped in. Well after leaving Orient the first time we walked over here to meet up with Laura. Your usual happy hour pricing on beer and then the early week food savings that abounds around town made this a nice evening. We sat outside and enjoyed a couple drinks and some pizzas. They are right on Alfred next to the Circular Quay train station.

Nightlife Spot: Orient Hotel
We came here twice during our trip. Once on Monday afternoon and then again on Saturday for a last meet up and drink before a relaxing evening at home. The pub is quite comfortable and I did not further explore the hotel, club, brasserie. But I did enjoy my visits here and it is much cheaper for the same amount of beer than the Lowenbrau just up the block.

Nightlife Spot: Observer Hotel
This was one of the first pubs we just popped into. We were walking up George Street heading back to the Rocks Market when I happened to see the Indians Red Sox game 2 on the TV. Not wanting to pop in and watch without buying a drink we ducked in for just one. Turned out to be two. While we were sitting there we met the other couple sitting there watching who turned out to quite the fun people to watch with. A British couple who were RS fans. This is where we got the idea of the Indian-Pacific on a future visit. The bar itself I must admit I never made it passed the second seat I came to. It like most others is a hotel and had multiple rooms that I did not get to go see.

Nightlife Spot: Lord Nelson
The Lord Nelson is one of those pubs built into an old building that really has a good feel about it. We came along to here on one of our last days in town. I was very comfortable and had I been able to find a beer I actually enjoyed I would have spent some time here. Being a microbrewery they have their own which for me don't measure up to what I'd like.

Nightlife Spot: Cargo
I haven't been here since my second visit in 2005. Your normal wharf side club like bar you'll find drinks and dancing until late hours. It has the benefit of being right on the end of the wharf where you have easy access to taxis when you are done.

Nightlife Spot: Ryan's
We got to see two sides of Ryan's in the matter of just a few hours. We were to meet up with friends at 530 one evening and happened to be near so went to check it out early. We sat there in the back in one of the round booths just chilling and having a drink enjoying a break. Nice. Quiet. Comfortable. After running out for pizza we came back and it was 530 and crowded. Our friends were still a few minutes away so we got a drink and sat inside but at one of the stool tables. When they arrived we moved out under the heat lamps outside and enjoyed the evening. Always nice to sit outside no matter the temps around. It was a Wednesday night and I have no idea if this is normal or not but all my drinks were $5 or less.

Nightlife Spot: Opera House - Gondoliers
By Gilbert and Sullivan. We decided to do a night at the Opera for her birthday. So with two tickets in hand we dressed up a little but not over the top and felt just slightly overdressed. They even did a touch of improv making fun of the horse flu that was going around at the time.
