This is by far my favorite thing to do in Paris. I have come to this museum each time I have been here. Although it is seemingly a bit expensive and small for what it is I am always thrilled. They have a very nice collection of Dali’s sculptures and paintings that never fails to move me. I always think while I’m there that Paris is the perfect place to show the controlled madness that his work inspires. When I have visited cameras have not been allowed inside. Yes it is true. The book with so many VTers addresses in it was purchased here.
They are open year round from 10am to 6pm while the admission is up to 10 euros for adults with discounts available for children, under 26, teachers, students and seniors.

When most people think of Paris they think of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889. The tower was originally built for Universal Exhibition of 1889. I think it is a grand structure and a recognnizable symbol of Paris. Visiting the tower is something that i think everyone should do when visiting Paris. The city view from the top are incredible. When the tower is iluminated at night it simply sparkles. It was a bit chilly the night we went up in the tower but well worth it for the views. Admission to the top was 12 Euros a person.

Musée d'Orsay was once a railway station, the Gare d'Orsay. The Museum houses mainly French Art from 1848-1915. The museum features paintings, sculpture, furniture and photography. The sculpture in the museum are beautiful and the detail is incredible. They have many works by Monet, Degas, Renoir, and Cezanne, which we enjoyed. Liz is a big fan of impressionism so she loves any museum that has an extensive collection of her favorite impressionists. The main hall definitely reminds me of a rail station. The glass roof of the center hall brings a nice amount of light into the building which creates a nice, open feel inside. We had an audio guide of the museum which I think is a great way to see a museum such as this. We were able to walk at our own pace and see what we wanted to see and fastforward through what we wanted to skip.

Notre Dame is a beautiful gothic cathedral. Everyone who visits Paris comes to see the beautiful cathedral and their famous stained glass windows. It is a big tourist destination but I think everyone should experience the cathedral for themselves. Notre Dame means "Our Lady" in French so this is the Cathedral of Our Lady. The Rose Window is the centerpiece of the cathedral. The stained glass is beautiful and is one of my highlights when visiting. The statues and gargoyles of the facade only add to the gothic feel. When we came to visit it was early in the morning and not too crowded yet. By the time we left the crowd was huge and full of tour groups waiting to get in.

The Jardin de Luxembourg is the largest public park in Paris. There is plenty of seats for people watching, people playing boules, children playing by the pond, vaious trees, plats, flowers, fountains and statues. The garden has numerous statues all over the grounds as well as figures of French Queens and female saints on pedestals. The Palais du Luxembourg is also located in the park. The palace was build for Catherine de Medici. When we came here it was late summer and the flowers were still in bloom. It was a nice relaxing day and we had a seat and did some people watching. It is one of Liz's favorite spots in Paris so I didn't mind indulging her a few hours of people watching and wandering about the park.
