Rent an Apartment: Better than a hotel

  • I have rented apartments from BYTArgentina several times. I have been very happy with them so far and always continue to be impressed with the service provided by this site. The prices are still fairly reasonable and compared to a hotel a SUPER bargain.

Unique Qualities: It was a much cheaper and more comfortable experience than staying in a hotel. Renting an apartment affords me the feeling of living here. I make myself a part of the neighborhood while I am here. Meeting the same girl in the bakery every morning. The local bartenders saying hello as I walk by even if I'm not coming inside now. Things like that that normally don't happen while staying in a hotel. There is a down side to this though as in all my trips here I still have a LOT of BsAs to see. Just that I'm so happy just being here in "my" neighborhood that I am a little reluctant to leave.

  • The Buenos Aires Hilton is one of the better hotels in my opinion. It is the only Hilton property in town and is fairly new. I particularly like the layout of the hotel and the executive floors on 8 and 9. The lounge is on 8 and quite large. There is a pool table here in the lounge as well as some high end liquors during the happy hour with decent food options. I had some sandwiches and prawns along with a glass of scotch while I was up here. The soft drinks are available all day long.

The rooms are fairly standard. I only saw the two bed rooms which are sufficient but nothing great.

The lobby area is large and well designed. There are several restaurants available although I’d never eat in a hotel restaurant while in Buenos Aires.

Unique Qualities: The gym here is quite nice as is the spa and pool area. The pool is off of the 8th floor executive lounge. I didn’t use it but it is one of the nicest I have seen in my travels.

Sheraton Libertador Hotel: OK Hotel to just have a room.   Check Rates

  • The Sheraton Liberator is one of those hotels that you stay in because others are and the location is good. It is not a great hotel in my mind but its good for groups and good in its location. As I’ve stated I prefer to stay in apartments in Recoleta but would use a hotel for a three day or less stay.

The rooms here are pretty basic. The hotel is known for not all the climate controls working in every room. I did enjoy the lobby lounge as we sat here into the morning drinking wine and just chilling.

Unique Qualities: The executive club was closed while I was there for renovations. Only three floors had been done so far and honestly don’t look great. But be sure to check on the status of renovations when you stay.

  • This place is my favorite hotel in BsAs that I've seen so far. Am thoroughly convinced I have a favorite room here even. It is a boutique hotel in Palermo, which is an area I would like to explore more than I have. A bustling restaurant and bar area downstairs that is quite well known in its own right the hotel is small. Only having a few rooms. But it is very much worth it in my mind.

Unique Qualities: The room had a deck with a table and chairs outside on it. Had the weather been better the French doors would have been open and we would have partied there. But as it was we were inside and just chilling with a bottle of wine.

Park Hyatt Buenos Aires: Fantastic if you can avoid the Tower   Check Rates

  • This is a stunning hotel in Recoletta. The rooms in the old main hotel are huge. Or at least the one I was in. The lounge is well done with a piano and a good selection of wine, although I am told Cow Doers show up and are a bit loud after some of that wine.

If you're a Hyatt Diamond I highly recommend this hotel.

Unique Qualities: Avoid the tower rooms if you can. Not because they're bad but because the others are so fantastic.

I remember meeting you back in your first trip to BA in 2005. I'm glad to hear you've been back many times and that you're about to get married! Congratulations! :)

Thank you so much! We have a pre-planned itinerary and Florida is on it! Now we know to buy elsewhere! Also, the Uru Leather Factory is hot on the list and you mention to buy your leather at Onze. It's my first trip to BA and I'm clueless.
