Oualidia, a wonder of nature....

It is El Oualid, the last Sultan of the Sâadeinne dynasty, which gave its name to this seaside resort. One of protected best on the North Atlantic side. In the high part of the city, one can still see some vestiges of his Kasbah, built in 1634. Between El Jadida and Safi, you will unstitch the beauty of the landscape and the attraction of its natural sites on the coastal road which skirts the salt-water marshes, the oyster beds and abundant early product culture. Inexhaustible visual treasury, Oualidia is a single village of fishermen in the world by the incredible diversity as of the its landscapes and by the richness of its historical vestiges and its cultural inheritance. In Oualidia, the ground and the ocean are confronted with it and mingle with it since with the millenia, they have creates a closed oval cliff language. With each tide the waves, which make dream the most insane surfers, cross the two master keys, come to fill the lagoon, then leave it. The equinoxes upset its funds, the demons live its caves, the fishermen nest in its rocks... each moment is single in this single place.... The great speciality of the city...the best oysters... of the world that the European and Japanese restaurants are torn off... and which are tasted with ormeaux, clams and crabs... dans the balneal district which counts some very good fish tables. The great beach in handle, preserved wind and protected from the tumultuous ocean by a barrier of small islands is very pleasant for those which want to bathe in full safety.... You will discover cliffs, points and reefs unceasingly beaten not the winds...

came back here for another look and a walk around the beach in July last year, loads of Moroccans around the lagoon. then finally made it back to El Jadida to get to the Portugeuse cistern during opening time! stayed the night there...did a lot of catching up in just 4 days...as our usual trips to Morocco! stayed with friends in Casa on our way back from 4 weeks in Turkey, down to meet relatives in Marrakech for the night, over to the coast and up to Oualidia and El Jadida, Azemmour and then a Marjane stop at Casa and then over to Fez for 2 nights - great to get back and see a few places still wanting to see and Volubillis again....hope all is well with you!
