"Mountains, Ocean, and Sky" Adana by vonmilla

Adana itself is Turkey's fourth largest city, and is divided into Old and New Adana (the south and north sides of town, respectively). On a clear day, you can see snowcapped mountains, then travel to the beach for a swim. You can literally go skiing and swimming on the same day in the spring, with a little driving between the two.

In Adana, you're near a lot of Biblical history (Tarsus and Antioch), and in a a good position to explore Crusader castles such as Yilankale, near Ceyhan. If you're carpet shopping, try the brightly-lit shops of Incirlik village. They cater to American military personnel posted nearby, and the merchants are fluent in English. You can get very good bargains on Turkish, Iranian, and other Oriental rugs in Incirlik. Old Adana is a famous goldsmithing center.
