    you can find a lot of good restaurants in italy. cuisine is really different from a region to another and I think it's really worth while tasting every regional cuisine!
    My suggestion should be quite useless, but try to taste local dishes in the right place... spaghetti all'amatriciana in Lazio, cannoli in sicily, pesto alla genovese in liguria just to name a few ...

    no need to remember you to SAY YES TO SLOW FOOD here in italy... if you go for 'industrial food' here you're hopeless :-)
    lot of people seems to appreciate italian cuisine... there must be a reason I think!

     Interesting stuff. Personally I would disagree with you about Taormina and poor old Caltagirone didn't get a mention. So much to see, so little time!
