Skaftefell National Park - Skaftafell

Skaftafell National Park is almost 5000 km2 oasis of vegetation between sands and glaciers. Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, is part of the park. This is a heaven for hikers with numerous hikingtrails in unique landscapes.

For now I've added some tips on the place and written travelogue on my hike to Hvannadalshnjúkur, Iceland's highest peak.

More to come soon as this is one of my favorite places in Iceland.

    Certainly a well deserved beer. Lucky to have clear weather, as well, for nice photos.
