My name is Snorri and I've been around on VT for some time now. I live in Iceland, together with my girlfriend and our two daughters. We also have a dog called Tara, a Pekingese. Obviously we love travelling although family responsibilities seem to be slowing that down a bit now. Apart from travelling and all related to that my main interest is football, both playing and watching. And of course 'normal' things like reading books, watching movies and good music.

I work at Iceland's main hospital and I'm training for anaesthesiology. My family will relocate to Gothenburg Sweden this summer to further my training.

I've made quite a few travel pages during my time here but I wouldn't count any of them as excellent travel info, more of a photo album for my personal recollections. Obviously my knowledge is most thorough on Iceland so feel free to contact me with any question on Iceland, or any other place I've been to.

1979 - born in Arendal in Norway, where my parents where studying, flew home to Iceland for the first time a few months old
1985 - trip to my birthplace, Arendal in Norway
1986 - road trip in Denmark, Germany, Luxemburg and Austria
1994 - went with my football team to Gothia Cup in Sweden
1995 - a short trip to Trondheim in Norway
1996 - again with my football team, this time around it was Lyngby Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark
1997 - a family vacation to Costa Brava in Spain. My first trip with my girlfriend
1999 - a 4 week trip with my girlfriend to Crete in Greece, Denmark and Norway
2000 - a 2 week trip to Alanya, Turkey
2000 - a short trip to Paris with my friend to see France-Iceland in Paris
2002 - a road trip to Germany, Austria and Italy
2003 - another trip to Crete, Greece. This time around we also spent two weeks exploring the Cyclades
2003 - weekend trip to Prague
2004 - a road trip to Slovenia and Croatia
2004 - a week in the Big Apple, just before Christmas
2005 - went to Manchester, the new City of Manchester stadium, against Birmingham
2005 - another trip to Manchester 8 months later, this time around a short stay in London, and 2-0 win against Everton
2006 - 16 days adventure in Thailand with my classmates and girlfriend
2006 - two weeks in Slovenia, with drive to/from Germany through Austria
2006 - bachelor party for my friend in Benidorm, Spain. Three days, I was totally worn out after 2.
2006 - splendid and action packed weekend trip to London with my g/f family
2007 - a weekend in Manchester again, 2-0 loss against Aston Villa but the food was good
2007 - family trip to Crete for the 3rd time, total relaxation and beach volleyball, my daughter loved it
2007 - again a week trip to New York in December. Conference, shopping and lots of eating
2008 - another weekend in Manchester, now a 2-1 win agaings utd at Old Trafford, that was sweet
2008 - wine tasting and relaxation in Tuscany with my in-laws, wonderful
2008 - work-related roadtrip in Sweden, visiting Lund, Göteborg, Uppsala and Stockholm
2008 - anaesthesia course in Copenhagen in December. Great trip except for those killing prices after our "economic collapse"
2009 - a week trip to Copenhagen with my family, my youngest´s first trip abroad at six months
2009 - few days in Göteborg in May to prepare for our relocation later this summer

As we are relocating to Sweden our travel for the next few years will probably be concentrated around Scandinavia and Europe. We´ll seize the opportunity to see as much as we can the years we´ll be living there. It is obviously far easier to get around from Sweden than Iceland. Before moving we´ll spend the summer traveling around Iceland and say goodbye to our country.
