Welcome to my virtual site! Hello in a space where I'd like to share some of my discoveries as they occure when I'm traveling or enjoying my life in Warsaw, Poland. I hope that the page is going to grow as my travels and local discoveries are hopefully experienced. In case you are looking for some information on Poland and you can't locate it in vast resources of VT pages you may find it useful to visit the link below: Poland.pl |
| No longer a hitcher but it happened some years ago |
My traveling style As much as I love traveling I can't make it to travel as much as I would like to... but I am trying at least once in a while. Lately I've realized that a longer journey happened in my case every 3-4 years. I still try to maintain my backpacking journey style but I gradually add some more of my backapacker's understanding of 'luxury' to it. First it was going abroad, later also using the plane to arrive to the destination and right now it is time for renting a car at the destination! I hope it is still far away from the real luxury that I would still prefer to avoid for some time... I wonder what will be the next level of my 'luxury'? |
| The man who really was "on the road" |
My interests... ... include reading good books (almost anything by Kerouac, Vonnegut, Kapuscinski, Singer), listening to good music (including Miles Davis, Bob Marley, RHCP, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Everlast, ADF, TGU and many more, also live), meeting up with friends to chat over a coffee or drink, and more active passtimes like biking, walking (some of my friends wonder why I am so much into wandering around Warsaw?:-), hiking and swimming. I love movies (anything by Coen bros, Spike Lee, most of things with John Malkovitch, anything interesting) and other things that I haven't mentioned here but still enjoy them very much. |
Latest "big journey" was around CA for 3 weeks ... which included: - San Francisco (rules! :-) - Yosemite (loved it!) - Death Valley and Las Vegas (both make an impression...) - Grand Canyon (magnificent views!) - Joshua Tree NP (a bit disappointing but OK in general) - San Diego (almost as cool as SF) - LA (a bit disappointig except from the Getty's) - Ocean Road up to SF (with sleep over in San Luis Obispo) - I have to come back the other way:-) - SF and Muir Woods, Alcatraz, etc etc - everything really nice:-) You can see some photos from the trip here. Regards, G |
