"GLÜCK AUF!" Bochum by Bagillbaer

<FONT color=006600><B>Essen is where I live, Bochum is where I study - both cities are part of the big urban area that is the Ruhrgebiet (<I>Ruhr</i>=name of a river, <I>Gebiet</i>=area) or more commonly the "Ruhrpott".<BR>Getting from one city to the other usually only takes you maybe 10-15 minutes by train, which can come very handy concerning nightlife-strategies and such. Only problem that remains is reaching your suburbian home from the main stations late at night...<BR> Anyhoo, Bochum is one rather cool city to be as it has loads of discos, concert clubs, the famous musical "Starlight Express", a planetarium, a very renowned theatre, a 3D cinema, museums... in one word: culture. It's not exactly a pretty place, but it's getting better and better.<BR>And as already mentioned, this is the city that hosts my university - it's dirt ugly (architectural subtelty? Oh, wasn't that this tropical plant?) - yet I LUV it :o). Honestly, I do love my uni, always did, even when I was a wee lassie and only went to the neighbouring Uni Center for shopping (nice bookshops). It just has this ambience of a fortress towering over the bosky hills (and the views you get from the cafeteria *uuuuuuuuuh* superb!!!).
