Excations Catharinachurch Eindhoven 20-7-05
The excavation is closed now, but you can see some of the skelets below on the square in front of the Catharina Church .
a skelet was found a few years ago from a boy age 14 yrs (Marcus of Eindhoven)who was burried here in medieval times (1300 ac).
In March 2005 they started digging again because more bodies from that time (1300ac) will be tested by international specialists from all over the world and ...they will do DNA tests which....maybe could deliver information for treatment on aidspatients...
Nico Arts, the city Archeologist will be in charge of this 1,5 yrs project together with Mick van Son, who was so nice to show and tell Robin 922 and me all about the history of the people who were berried here and will be digged out for research this month.

tom dressed up as in prehistoric times haha Tom
Planned the 5th.VT Euromeeting 2009 at th meetingspage, but had to cancel due to healtproblem :-(
I love to work here because of my interest in history and the beautifull area its located.
Induviduals, groups or schools can make a tour or/and take part of some special organized activites like making bread, learn how to cut wood, make wooden arrows etc etc.
Also there is a possibillity for groups to stay overnight for 1 or more nights/weekend and live life like people uesed to do in prehirstoric times and in medieval times:-).
At the area are old handmade wooden buildings from the ironperiode and from medieval centuries, including an inn were one can order modern food and drinks, soups or have a special diner. All can be arranged.
Pictures of this museum i also put on my NoordBrabant page, so have a peek:-)
Stefano: ?We kregen heel goede uitleg.
Factor Leren: 9
Rik: Je kan hier ontzettend veel doen. Maar tingieten vond ik het leukst? Factor Doen: 10 Het Historisch Openluchtmuseum Eindhoven sleepte maar liefst 45 punten binnen! Dat is goed voor.... 5 sterren!
