Ukraine is were my mam was born and where most of my family is still living. Thats why i call it my second homeland since my dad was Dutch and i grew up in Holland it is my first homeland.
Iam so Happy because in 2006 i have found more family of my mam s family and they live in California and in Canada, thanx to internet and VT! and in 2008 still in contact-)
I love Holland because its a free country, the economy is good and my friends are here, i love Ukraine because people are fantastic warm persons, the nature is various, fantastic mountains, subtropical beaches, beautifull old cities, alas Ukraine is poor, unknown in the rest of the world although its the second largest country in Europe!
Discover Ukraine and u will fall in love with this country as well:-)

Ukraine is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe and has its own territory, government, national emblem, flag and anthem. It borders on Russia, Byelorussia, Moldova, Slovakia, Roumania, Hungary and Poland on land and Russia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Roumania and Turkey on sea.
The population of Ukraine is 51 million!
National currency - gryvnya(UAG) (1 USD = 5,42 UAG)
The territory of Ukraine is mostly a level, treeless plain, calls "steppe". There are the Crimean Mountains in the Crimean peninsula and the Carpathians in the west, but they are not very high. Mixed forests of pine and fir-trees, beeches, limes, oaks and elms cover the mountains, but the thickest woods can still be found in the northern part of the republic, in Volyn. Kiev and Cherkassy lie in the midst of Ukrainian southernmost pine forest. The main Ukrainian river is the Dnieper. It is one of the longest European rivers and one of the republic's main source of hydroelectric power. The Dnieper and its tributary the Ross had been the cradle of the Ukrainian and Russian people in time immemorial.
The largest rivers of Ukraine are the Dnipro, Dnister and Pivdennyj Bug. . Ukraine has 5 natural parks and 15 wildlife preserves.
Ukraine is famous for its mineral rich waters used for medicinal purposes at a variety of health resorts throughout the country. Some of better known resorts include: Truskavets, Myrhorod, Morshyn, Poliana and Syniak.
Due to favorable climatic conditions, Ukraine is traditionally an agricultural area. It grows wheat, maize, buckwheat and other corn, red and green vegetables, all kinds of fruit, melons and berries.
Ukraine is one of the world's main centers of sugar production. It produces sugar both for her own needs and for export.
The country is rich in natural resources, such as iron ore, coal, color metal, oil, gas, mineral salts, clay and potential water power. It has developed a varied industry, concentrated mostly in and around big cities, such as Kiev, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Dnyeprodzerzhinsk, Odessa, Kharkov, Lviv, Nickolayev and other. It produces planes and ships, lorries and buses, motorcars and locomotives, computer and electronic equipment, precision instruments and agricultural machines, TV and radioset, chemicals and textiles and various consumer goods. Odessa, Sebastopol, Nickolayev, Kherson and Kerch are main ukrainian ports.

Visa and visa-free stays Kiyv Post 23-7-2008

As of May 16, when Ukraine became a World Trade Organization member, the stamp imprinted by a passport control officer at the border and considered a foreign national’s initial registration has the following validity periods:

– For all non-residents entering Ukraine with a visa: not more than 90 continuous days after entering Ukraine.

– For individuals entering Ukraine under the visa-free or simplified visa regime for a period of 90 days (cumulatively) during any 180-day period.

– For citizens of WTO member countries (including those visiting with a visa) – for a period of 180 days (cumulatively) during a year.

Individuals planning to stay in Ukraine beyond the above listed periods may prolong their stay with registration with the UGIRFO (Department of Citizenship, Immigration and Registration of individuals), commonly referred to as OVIR.

Travelers who overstay their windows (90 or 180 days) without registration face fines of between Hr 340 and Hr 680. While these rules are sporadically enforced, it is recommended that you register with the authorities at least three days prior to entry stamp expiration.

U.S. Embassy officials and the Kyiv Post asked the customs department if WTO country travelers who arrived prior to May 16 are grandfathered into the 180 day window, but have received no response.

While these are the stated regulations, this does not protect the individual traveler from arbitrary enforcement by border, UGIRFO, or law enforcement officials.
