Europe and UK

by salty_dog - last update: Jan 24, 2001

Just back from a coach tour (cosmos) of Europe and a self drive thru NE Scotland. As a geriatric lay about found the coach tour a bit tiring as one is not used to being up at 06:00 and finally making it to bed around 23:00, however more about the trips later.
The tour in question was the 16 day Best of Europe with Cosmos Coach Tours and with both Globus and Cosmos the tour starts from day 1 and finishes on day 16, not like others where the first day is wasted meeting the other passengers and the last day one only has breakfast before it breaks up. As I mentioned earlier it gets very tiring towards the end of the trip so don't ask me to describe our hotel in say Grenoble its only a haze.
One thing about doing something like this gives one a very good idea as to where we will go back to, that being Sorrento,Rome and Nice.
If you are prone to bus sickness I would not advise driving the "Route of Napoleon" i.e.from Cannes to Grenoble. Coming down through the Brenner Pass can be a bit hairy especially if you are sitting in the front seats
