Under permanent construction (just like the city.)
Prejudiced? Perhaps, I was born here. I really got to appreciate and miss this city after I moved from this place for my study.
X. It's a city where every old house has its story; about ordinary live in old Amsterdam when discoverers and tradesmen travelled all over the world and discovered places that are nowadays tourist attractions.
X. It's a colourfull peoples place. Maybe you don't realise it when you are visiting Amsterdam, but you are part of the attraction. There are people from al over the world visiting and settling in Amsterdam.
X. It's the city of freedom. No, I don't mean the coffeeshops, although it's also part of this freedom. But it's a city where you are free to be who you want to be. And it's worth to make an effort so it will stay that way. |

| | 2006 - year of Rembrandt (the painter) If you like art this is a good year to visit Amsterdam. There are many special exhibitions about the Painter Rembrandt. In the picture you see the house (now a museum) where Rembrandt used to live and work. More about the Rembrandt program: www.Holland.com |
