We rarely saw the sun in Chengdu last Decemmber. Nevertheless, the Ma po beancurd kept us warm and we enjoyed the unhurried pace of this huge city. There are lots of shops to enjoy, and quite a few attractions in the area |
|  | Chengdu has many narrow lanes where life goes on much as it must have decades ago, with bicycles zooming in and out of alleyways, and folk eating at hole in the wall restaurants where delicious odours waft into the street. |
