Alcatraz: Alcatraz
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is a very touristy thing to do but I love the tour on Alcatraz. I've done it a couple of times and it's very interesting. Plus, the ferry ride to the island can be great--unless it's really cold and windy.

Directions: The ferry leaves from one of the Piers down by the water. Can't remember which one but you'll see it as you are walking by. Or call.

The Presidio/Fort Mason: Go for a run in the Presidio
  • Tip Rating:
  • Do this either in the morning before a big meeting or after work (during the summer when it's still light) to unwind. It's a great place to explore and has many hills that make for a great workout!

Directions: There are several ways to get into the Presidio. It depends on where you come from. Ask someone at your hotel or a friend that lives in town.
