Modern Haida Villages

Masset is predominantly white village, while Old Masset is a first nations village. It along with Skidegate on the southern part of Graham Island and Hydaville in Alaska are the main Haida villages.

There were an increadable number of bald eagles all over Old Masset/

Modern Totem Poles

There is a signifcant revival of some of the Haida arts in Old Masset. Totem poles seem to have sprung up everywhere. Houses were being constructed using the traditional longhouse design.

Most of the doors we saw were not nearly as elaborate as this one, but as elsewhere, the Haida are showing off their traditional artforms,
