Queen Charlotte (formerly Queen Charlotte City) is the largest village on Haida Gwaii and the place most people see. People tend to arrive from the ferry from nearby Skidegate Landing (either from Prince Rupert or from the airport at Sandspit.
Just past the Haida village of Skidegate, we see this unique bolder on the shore.
Haida Gwaii is located in a seismically active area and with the populated areas being near sea level, there is a risk of tsunamis. These evacution route and warning signs are located all through the village
