Just a view of the city taken from the Perlan. The Halgrimskirkja is in the background. It's not a large town and we were able to walk pretty well everywhere in the downtown core and as far as the Perlan.

Probably the most noticeable landmark in Reykjavik. A large modern church, with a statue of Leifur Eiriksson in front. The basic shape reminds us of the basalt columns found in various parts of the country, especially at the Svartifoss waterfalls in Skaftafell National Park.

Pros and Cons

Pros:One of the most fantastic places I have ever visited.
Cons:Not the greatest weather. Car rentals and accomodation are pricey

Hressingarskalinn or Hresso, as we called it was our teenage hangout back in the day. Sorry 'bout the hotel, it is not one of the better ones. I know you like Iceland, from forum replies. Good stuff pal....Erik

I only had a 16 hour visit driving madly from the ferry on one side of the island to the airport at Keflavik - just made it! but what fabulous scenery along the way....seeing yr pages I should really get back to see more!
