Restaurant Name: Actual restaurant via Laietana
Sadly, Gran Central hotel lacks a real bar, but Actual restaurant, one floor below the lobby, makes up for that. This is one of the most famous places for innovative cuisine and Actual has a great value for money prix-fixe dinner menu of 35 euros.

Restaurant Name: Ciudad Condal rambla Catalunya & Grann Via
This must be my favorite tapas place in Barcelona. Always full inside, nice wooden decoration, as well as outside where there is a typical terrace on the middle of Rambla Catalunya. It's a very good address. A first look you might think that it's quite commercial (rapidity of the service, waiters waiting for you) but once you tried the tapas you understand that working people or connoisseurs are here to have a good lunch/dinners. All kinds of tapas, desserts, fine wine and alcohol will reconcile you with a hard day working (to come) or hanging around.. PS: Ciudad Condal is the old name of Barcelona.
Favorite Dish: All kinds of mussels funny sizes deliciously prepared with garlic, wine and white sauces Delicious tapas with aubergine, salmon, anchovies, cheese, tortilla

Restaurant Name: Sagardì Euskal Taberna
The best kind of bar in Spain is the tapas bar and Sagardi in the Born is a good one to enjoy a few drinks. Located on Argenteria, one of the most traveled routes from Barrio Gotic to Barrio Born, makes this a great place to watch people. There is a restaurant in the back but the standing only bar is the traditional way to sample some tappas and cervesas. The bar is covered with several different mouth-size portions of typical Catalan appetizers so you can freely choice to eat as many or as few as you want.

Restaurant Name: El Chiringuito Moncho's
Moncho’s is a long-established chain in Barcelona, its various branches across town known for reliably good quality fish in a relatively formal atmosphere. And then there’s El Chiringuito Moncho’s, its rowdier, more relaxed beachfront offspring. The blue-canopied beach-shack-style restaurant is set up on the promenade whose sporadic eateries overlook the fine wide sands of Nova Icaria beach (far more pleasant than Barceleneta’s building rubble). Don’t come here for a lingering and undisturbed romantic meal for two, nor for your daily quota of greens. And forget it if you don’t like garlic. But do come if you want generous portions of good fish and seafood in a lively local atmosphere with great sea views. Even on 1st of May, most customers were Spanish, mainly families and groups of friends digging into communal bowls of mussels, plates of squid, octopus and patatas bravas. Wine comes in tumblers (and is quite drinkable), beer in plastic glasses and you’ll spot the odd mussel shell on the floor courtesy of the next table’s child. Fish comes on its own, and beyond the salad and varieties of potatoes, in crisis or otherwise, there’s little to go with them. But you’ll probably be quite thankful for that when it’s time to leave and you realise you’re too full to look another shrimp in the eye. What’s more, you can’t beat these views - and Moncho’s guarantees you mop them up with a fine bit of fish.
Favorite Dish: The menu, essentially, is fish, grilled or fried; there’s a token nod to meat-eaters with the offering of steak and very little for vegetarians apart from a large salad with, besides the usual, chick peas and olives (make sure they remove the tuna). Starters cost around 5-6 euros and include mussels, boiled prawns and Gallician-style octopus. There’s also a section called ‘Patatas de la crisis’ which turned out to be baked potatoes with a variety of fillings, including seafood, or there are potato fritters going by the name of ‘patatas payason’. And then for the mains, filling plates of all the usual – sardines, prawns, shrimps, crayfish and tasty grilled cuttlefish in the imperative garlicky sauce. You can get an assorted plate of a bit of everything for 18 euros and seafood paella is 10 euros a portion.

buzzing Mediterranean brasserie with a wide-ranging menu, atmosphere somewhat frenetic, with stressed waiters but nice striking décor – bold black, white, red and blue, with a musical and theatrical theme running through its murals.
Favorite Dish: an excellent selection of tapas, delicious starters, lots of salad incorporating all sorts of ingredients including cod, walnuts and prawns, skewers of king prawns with bacon, pan-fried Andalucian squid and cuttlefish… grilled fish and meat to parmesan risotto
