"Nerja - Enjoying the Costa del Sol" Nerja by profuselycool

So my first stop in Spain after Madrid was to the beautiful coastal down of Nerja, along the Costa del sol. Once known as the costa del crimen "crime," due to the proximity to Morocco and the drug trade, this area has really revitalized itself over the last decade and is now a top attraction in Spain.

The beaches along Nerja are gorgeous, somewhat rocky but not uncomfortable. The water is fantastic also. It's difficult to explain, but there's something very soothing about the Mediterranean waters that wash up along these shores. I'd equate it to the Libyan Sea off of the southern shores of Crete - very cool.

Basically, my two and a half days here were charactarized by just chilling around the beach during the day and heading to the Plaza de Tutti Frutti around nighttime. What a relaxing way to spend vacation!
