Constanta (350,000) is the 2nd largest port in Europe, and 9th largest in the world, making it one of Romania’s most important cities. Each entrance to the city has a coast guard ship next to the road as a welcome symbol.

Constanta was Turkish for 100 years (until 1877) and they have a Turkish minority and a mosque.

Thanks for the introduction to Constanta, Jessie. I do like port cities and I have a family link to Constanta as my great great uncle lived there when he was a jockey. It would be great to visit and see where he lived.
