Litohoro is the starting point for most hiking routes to Mount Olympos, a picturesque village with many hostels and small restaurants. Probably the most charming location in the whole of Katerini district, the prefecture of Pieria as we call it.

Cons:Huge military installations surrounding town

We were in Pieria this summer (if mid. september is still summer) but didn't visit Dion and didn't climb on Olympos. Shame on us! But... we hope that shall be there again :-) Fine page!
